Candidate Eligibility
Candidates for the Certification Program
Candidates are evaluated for their maturity. Candidates are accepted who are esteemed capable of becoming Global Somatics Practitioners and of surviving the rigors of the program. Only those esteemed capable of surviving the rigors of the program are accepted. Once accepted, the director and staff support and accommodate the student within the designed templates of the program to assure happy and successful completion of training. The certification program is designed for people with a strong sense of self, a core foundation in movement, bodywork or other body-mind disciplines and a passion for service. The program will be limited to a maximum of 20 students. Eligibility requirements include:
- Has read and understood the standards of conduct and school catalog.
- Minimum age of 24 years
- Has a high school diploma or its equivalent, or secondary education/vocational training.
- Has the physical and emotional capabilities for movement and bodywork. The school may require written documentation from a physician or therapist regarding applicant's health
- Has previous experience in Global Somatic Process
- Is compatible with Suzanne River and her teaching style
- Has significant professional experience in the somatic or related fields
- Has the ability to improvise
- Demonstrates a mature sense of self
- Is capable of effective interpersonal communication and responsible for one's process and learning
- Has the ability to participate in experiential learning within a community
- Has the ability to complete homework requirements
- Has adequate community, academic and financial planning to assure completion of program
